‘What Makes You A Man’ is the newest cut from Glasgow’s The Ninth Wave. Named after a Kate Bush song cycle, you’d expect a certain level of experimentalism to flow seamlessly alongside exceptional melodies. This single is the embodiment of that concept. Nine Inch Nails-esque industrialism forms a large part of the texture, but the band certainly don’t skimp on catchiness, with a call and response style hook drawing us in and not letting us go. ‘What Makes You A Man’ is released alongside a gritty black and white video, and the announcement of a new album, Heavy Like A Headache, out March 11^th, 2022. -Dan Peeke
